5 Days of State-Provided COVID Related Sick Leave This Year:
The state is offering 5 days of COVID sick leave this year up to a total $ amount of $850 (including benefits). This means that, for some, a portion of the 5 sick days (whatever is not covered under the $850) would be made up from an individual’s banked sick-time. The requirements for these days are loose, but documentation must be provided.
You can view the form at this link: Leave Request Form
or you can download the form to print or send here: Leave Request form Download
*** These forms should be turned in to Deb Kuhn in the Central Office for processing.
*** Some possible uses of the sick leave
*** Note that, in general, employers may not require employees to use other types of available paid leave before they use COVID-19 emergency paid sick leave. Similarly, employers may not require employees to search for or find a replacement worker to cover the time the employee will miss while using COVID-19 emergency paid sick leave.
*** Ask Your GEA Building Rep, or a GEA Executive Committee member, if you have any questions.

TOXIC POSITIVITY, by Julie Mason on October 6, 2020:
Set Boundaries, and Name What You’re Feeling (and it ain’t positivity….). This article sums it up. Things are NOT normal and teachers, regardless of their super-powers, cannot make it that way (despite claims by government, school board, parents and administrators to the contrary).
